ASK THE DOCTOR Dr. Adrian Kriel

April 2008

As we age it is said that you become a sinker or a sagger!  Every woman’s dream!  We have recently written about the neck and jowl area but we need to look higher up on the face.

Our brow lines and mid face start to droop giving us what appears to be a very tired look.  To correct this ptosis (drooping) an Endotine ribbon lift is a less invasive method over a surgical face-lift.

The way in which a ribbon lift (Endotine) works is the insertion of the ribbon strip into the sub dermal space through a small incision.  The ribbon is pulled and the tiny notches on the endotine ribbon allow us to lift the skin.

The long-term goal is that scar tissue builds up around this foreign body and holds the underlying structures to lift the weight of the tissue.  The degree of the lift instantaneously provides dramatic results and definition. The ribbon can be used to raise the eyebrow area, the forehead, midface region, jowl and neck areas.

Endotine ribbons are bioabsorbable, nature’s healing process.  There are no residual fixation artifacts to detract from the results, leading to greater patient satisfaction.
