LIFESTYLE CHOICES

Long before there was Amron Construction and I was a youngster growing up in Medicine Hat, I was informed by my parents that in every day of my lifetime I would have to make choices. I was told that every choice I made had a consequence. So what I figured out in a very short time was that before I made a choice, I was to think it through. If my choice was not the right choice, there would certainly be consequences that I might soon regret.

Choices apply to homes, too. Years ago, the housing choices a customer had to make were pretty much directed to what features their single family dwelling would have. Today, we can still choose single-family dwellings or go into duplex dwellings, multi-unit townhome developments, apartment condos and even joint ownership/timeshare products. We can buy "fee simple", meaning we own our unit and the land it sits on, or go "condo", in where we own our unit only, and the common building areas and land is owned by all of the occupants. Maintenance and upkeep is paid by everyone, and a condo association makes the rules that you and everyone else must live by.

So here I get to what I really want to share with you. When you make your lifestyle choice, THINK IT THROUGH! Is your choice adequate for you today? Next year? Do you need privacy? Do you want a yard and the maintenance? Is a dog in your future? Maybe you hate dogs, but your condo association decides they are welcome in your building. Maybe you like to entertain, but the lifestyle choice you made doesn't allow it, or the condo party room is already booked.

Simply put, when it becomes your time to make your lifestyle choice… know that your choice will have consequences. Know that this choice will impact you financially and emotionally. Know that you must feel good about your choice today and in the years to come.
